Part of WasteOS · one ID per asset · updated by the field

Every bin, container, and asset in one live register.

Stop guessing how many containers you own or where they went. Inventory keeps a single, live register of every asset in your operation, updated as the field works, so the number on the screen is the number on the ground.

A minute on the register: one search, one asset, its whole life on the record. Faithful recreation on demonstration data.

The problem

Five spreadsheets, one yard walk, and a number nobody trusts.

Routes, contracts, and billing are only as trustworthy as the asset list underneath them. Today that list lives in exports that were stale the day they were saved. Inventory is that list, kept honest.

One register, not five spreadsheets

Bins, containers, vehicles, and sensors live in one place, with one ID each. No more reconciling three exports to answer a simple question.

Live, not last-quarter

The register updates as the field scans, swaps, and services assets, so what you see reflects the ground today, not the last stock-take.

Defensible by design

Every asset carries its history: who placed it, when it moved, what was serviced. Enough to survive an audit or a council meeting.

The asset lifecycle

From onboarding to retirement, on one timeline

Every asset moves through the same four stages, and the register tracks each one so nothing falls off the books.

1

Onboard

Scan a new bin or container into the register in seconds. Its ID, type, owner, and location are captured the moment it enters service.

2

Deploy

Place the asset with a customer or on a route. The register links it to the address, the contract, and the collection scheme it belongs to.

3

Service

Track fill levels, condition, and repairs across the asset’s working life. Maintenance is scheduled against the record, not remembered by someone.

4

Retire

When an asset is damaged beyond repair or returned, retire it with a reason. It leaves the active count but keeps its history for the audit.

What you get

A register built for the field, not the filing cabinet

Four capabilities that keep the asset list accurate without adding paperwork to anyone’s day.

01
Asset registry

Every asset, one identity, full history

Give each bin, container, vehicle, or sensor a single ID and a home. Type, size, owner, location, and current state travel with it, and its full timeline is one click away.

Sensors and fill levels

The register knows how full it is

Connect fill-level and telemetry sensors and their readings land on the asset itself. Plan around what is actually full, not a fixed calendar, and spot a silent sensor before it costs you a collection.

03
Maintenance and lifecycle

Service before it becomes a complaint

Track condition, schedule maintenance, and log every repair against the asset. A damaged container raises a task, not a phone call, and the cost of keeping it stays visible.

Movements and swaps

Nothing goes missing between here and there

Deliveries, collections, swaps, and returns are recorded as they happen, from the cab. When a customer asks where their container went, the answer is on the record, with a timestamp.

One register, every role

The same truth, framed for who’s looking

Operations, the field, and finance all read from one register, each seeing the view that fits their job.

Operations

Operations sees the whole estate

Every asset, its state, and where it is, filterable by area, type, or customer. Plan swaps and replacements from an accurate count.

  • Live count of every asset by type and area
  • Flag under-serviced or overdue assets at a glance
  • Plan swaps against real condition, not guesswork
Field

The field sees the next task

Drivers and technicians scan, swap, and service assets from the cab, updating the register as they go with no paperwork to file later.

  • Scan to confirm the right asset at the right address
  • Log a swap or a fault in a couple of taps
  • Works offline and syncs when back in range
Finance

Finance sees what it costs to own

Asset counts, depreciation, and maintenance spend tie back to the register, so the balance sheet matches the yard.

  • Reconcile owned assets to the ledger without a stock-take
  • See maintenance cost per asset and per contract
  • Export a defensible register for the annual audit

Questions we get

The practical stuff

What operations teams ask before they move their asset list into WasteOS.

How does the register stay up to date? +
The field updates it. Every scan, swap, and service logged from the cab lands on the asset in real time, so the register reflects the ground rather than the last stock-take.
Do we need special hardware to scan assets? +
No. Onboarding and scanning work from the standard WasteOS mobile app using QR or barcode labels. If you already tag assets with RFID, we can read that too.
Can we connect our existing sensors? +
Yes. Fill-level and telemetry feeds attach to the asset they belong to, so readings show up in context instead of a separate dashboard.
What happens to an asset’s history when we retire it? +
It is kept. A retired asset leaves the active count but keeps its full timeline, so an audit or dispute can still be answered months later.
